Our History
The law firm of Mitchel I. Kirshbaum, P.A. was started by Mitchel Kirshbaum in 1982 after he had been in a partnership with three other attorneys for nearly 20 years. The focus of the new firm was the aspect of being a lawyer that Mitchel loved, handling automobile accident and personal injury representation and helping those who had been injured to get their life back on track. The firm also did a fair amount of commercial collection work representing Sears, Roebuck & Co and Discover Card in collecting credit card debt.
Jim Kirshbaum joined the firm fresh out of law school in 1986 and remained with the firm until 1997 when it was decided that the personal injury and commercial collection practices should be split up. Jim started his own firm concentrating on the collection practice. This continued until both Sears and Discover decided to centralize their collection business and stopped using local attorneys. Mitchel Kirshbaum continued to offer exceptional representation to people who had been injured by the negligence of others since its inception.
After representing various insurance companies in defending injury and no-fault claims for over 15 years, Jim Kirshbaum came back to the plaintiff’s side and rejoined the firm in September 2019.
Mitchel Kirshbaum retired from the practice of law at the end of 2020 with over 65 years of personal injury practice experience and thousands of satisfied clients behind him. Jim Kirshbaum is now providing the same high level of service the firm’s clients have come to expect.
